Where do dark spots come from?

Dark spots can appear at any age and on any skin type and color. There are 3 different factors that can trigger their occurrence. The first is the sun: spots related to the sun, called lentigines, are spots that usually occur over time, when we have been exposed a lot and mainly on exposed areas such as the face, neck, neckline and hands. It is the sun which is also responsible for the so-called "age spots". The second is inflammation, this is a normal reaction of the skin when it is damaged and repairs itself and it can cause a spot, especially when you have an acne pimple. The last factor is the hormonal factor: certain drugs such as the contraceptive pill which modify the hormonal balance or at certain times of life such as during pregnancy or menopause, pigment spots may appear.
